Get Ready! Rawalpindi is Introducing a Cool New Bus Service

A new addition to Rawalpindi's transportation network is on the horizon, promising residents of the garrison city a convenient and economical mode of public transit across both public and private transport routes.

The Punjab Mass Transit Authority is actively working towards implementing an integrated public transport system, specifically focusing on feeder routes in Rawalpindi.

Insiders revealed to a local media outlet that the upcoming project will involve the deployment of 78 mini busses, each measuring 8 meters in length. The initiative is slated to unfold in two phases, with the initial phase introducing these mini busses across 34 routes within the city.

Notably, the schedule and fares for the impending bus service are anticipated to mirror those of the Metro Bus Service. Arshad Ali, Secretary of the Regional Transport Authority (RTA), shared with the media that the buses will be procured from various countries, including China.

He emphasized the integration of all buses with metro stations to function as feeder buses. According to Ali, the project's inaugural phase is poised for launch in the coming days.

In addition to the project update, Arshad Ali informed the public about a modification in the route of the Rawalpindi Integrated Transport System, specifying the alteration from Kachehri Chowk to Soan Bus Stand. The revised route will now traverse from Kachehri Chowk to Rawat vegetable and fruit market.

Outlined below are the routes associated with Phase 1 of the Rawalpindi Integrated Transport System, as provided on the Punjab Mass Transit Authority's official website.
