Govt Decides To Establish EV Development Board

The Federal Government has decided to establish a development board for the electric vehicles in Pakistan. Recently a meeting was held under the supervision of Minister of Science and Technology, Fawad Husain Chaudhry.
The officials from the Pakistan Engineering Council PEC, Pakistan Standard & Quality Control Authority PSQCA, Federal Board of Revenue FBR and other personalities attended the meeting.

In the meeting all attendees of the meeting agreed upon the establishment of Electric Vehicles EV Development Board. The board’s objective is to monitor and regulate the developments of EVs in Pakistan.

The name of the regulatory wing is proposed to be ‘Future Science and Technology Board’. The new department will monitor developments in the EV market of Pakistan and watch over other developmental activity pertaining to science and technology.
In the meeting is also decided that PEC will head the EV Development Board and will see all formal proceedings and documentation and will give a plan to Ministry of Science and Technology. The Ministry will propose the plan before cabinet for approval.
