Govt Plans To Install Evs Charging Stations On The Motorways

The Special Assistant to Prime Minister SAPM for the Environment Malik Amin Aslam announced that government of Pakistan is quickly moving forward to fulfill the Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision of green and clean Pakistan. The Government is now ready to install electric vehicles charging stations across the Pakistan.

The government aims to install fast charging stations on all motorways and highways of the country. The SAPM further revealed that the government is in talks with National Electric Power Regulatory Authority NEPRA to decline the costs of EV’s production and running.

According to Special Assistant to Prime Minister SAPM for the Environment Malik Amin Aslam:
“The government has set a target to bring half a million electric motorcycles and rickshaws along with more than 100,000 electric cars, buses, and trucks into the transportation system in the next five years,”

The SAPM Aslam told about imports and registrations of the vehicles as well. He said in thid regard that the government has formed a committee for registrations, imports and other related matters of electrical vehicles users. The concerned departments are duly in work position in this regard. The SAPM further said the EVs will be helpful in minimizing the pollution and fuel expenses in Pakistan
