High-Performance Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Arriving in 2025

Xiaomi has swiftly announced the release of the road-legal SU7 Ultra for the first half of 2025, following the debut of its most ambitious EV concept yet. Building on the tremendous success of the initial SU7 model, this high-performance variant promises an unparalleled driving experience on both tracks and open roads.

Impressive Concept Unveiled

Last week, Xiaomi revealed the SU7 Ultra Concept with remarkable specifications. CEO Lei Jun stated that most components would transition into the production model. The Ultra will maintain the same chassis, triple motor setup, and battery pack, ensuring performance levels comparable to the prototype.

High-Performance Specifications

The SU7 Ultra Concept features three powerful in-house developed electric motors — two rear-mounted V8s spinning at 27,200 rpm and a single V6 motor for the front wheels. Together, these generate 1,548 horsepower, enabling acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 1.97 seconds and reaching 200 km/h in 5.98 seconds. The concept version can exceed a top speed of 350 km/h.

Advanced Battery and Braking System

The SU7 Ultra's performance is bolstered by CATL's Qilin II battery, known for its rapid discharge capabilities and 5.2C charging multiplier. The braking system, featuring forged six-piston calipers, provides exceptional stopping power. Xiaomi claims the combination of re-calibrated regenerative braking and mechanical brakes delivers a formidable 2.36g of stopping power.

Pricing and Market Position

Although the prototype showcased a full carbon fiber body, the production model will forgo this feature to maintain affordability. The exact price remains undisclosed, but Lei Jun hints at a slight increase from the SU7 Max version, which costs around RMB 299,000 (€38,700). Early leaks suggested a tri-motor version, FE, with 1,074 horsepower and priced at RMB 339,000 (€43,800). Comparatively, the SU7 Ultra's pricing will position it as an ultimate bargain against competitors like the Zeekr 001 FR.
