Honda BR-V Secures Top Selling Position in the Philippines

Honda's longstanding bestselling model in the Philippines, the City, has faced a formidable challenger in the form of the newly launched 7-seat MPV, the Honda BR-V. Since its introduction in November 2022, the BR-V has swiftly outpaced the City, becoming the preferred choice among Filipino car buyers in just seven months, with over 7,800 units sold.

The success of the BR-V, as reported by Honda Philippines, can be attributed to its outstanding features that resonate with customers. These include a revamped SUV-inspired design, a comfortable and versatile interior, a powerful and fuel-efficient engine, advanced features, and comprehensive safety equipment.

Key highlights of the BR-V include a generous ground clearance of 207mm and 17-inch alloy wheels, providing assurance for navigating rough terrain or moderate floods. The interior offers ample passenger space and generous cargo volume, surpassing its predecessor.

Powering the BR-V is an all-new 1.5L DOHC i-VTEC four-cylinder engine, delivering 121 hp with 145 Nm of torque, available with either a CVT or a 6-speed manual gearbox. The BR-V stands out not only for its powerful engine but also for its remarkable fuel efficiency, demonstrated in a 2022 fuel economy run with the Automotive Association Philippines.

Safety is a paramount focus in the BR-V, featuring standard equipment such as 6 airbags, 3-point ELR seatbelts for all three rows, seatbelt reminders, ABS with EBD and BA, VSA, HSA, ESS, ISOFIX child seat anchorage, security alarm, reversing camera, speed-sensing door locks, engine immobilizer, walk-away door locks, and Honda Sensing in the top trim, complete with Lane Watch function.

The BR-V boasts a 5-star ASEAN NCAP safety rating, providing extra peace of mind on the road. Pricing for the BR-V starts at PHP 1,150,000 (PKR 58.38 lac) for the base S variant, PHP 1,295,000 (PKR 65.74 lac) for the V variant, and PHP 1,390,000 (PKR 70.57 lac) for the top-spec VX with Honda Sensing.
