Honda e:N1 Production Starts in Thailand

Honda has commenced the production of the Honda e:N1 All-Electric Crossover at its manufacturing facility located in Rojna Industrial Park, Prachinburi, Thailand. Unveiled earlier this year as the e:Ny1 EV, this vehicle represents a pure electric variant of the recently introduced HR-V, also known as the Vezel.

Honda's Electric Debut in Thai Production

This development signifies a significant milestone for Honda, as it establishes the brand as the first Japanese automaker to initiate the production of electric cars in Thailand. The e:N1 is constructed on Honda's e:N Architecture F platform, featuring a robust 68.8 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that powers the system, delivering an impressive 201 hp (150 kW) and 310 Nm of torque.

Impressive Performance and Efficient Charging

Honda asserts that the e:N1 achieves rapid charging through DC fast-charging, capable of reaching 10 to 80% state of charge (SOC) in just 45 minutes. The vehicle boasts a claimed range of 412 km in the WLTP cycle, surpassing the capabilities of the recently discontinued Honda E Read More. Additionally, the e:N1 attains a top speed of 160 km/h and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.6 seconds.

Honda's Strategic Model for EV Sales Target
In line with Honda's ambition to sell at least 2 million electric vehicles by 2030, the e:N1 assumes a crucial role as a flagship model. Honda Cars 2024 has further plans for expanding its electric vehicle lineup, including the introduction of twin models – the e:NS1 and e:NP1.

Market Availability and Future Prospects

The e:N1 is scheduled to be available for purchase in Thailand in the first quarter of 2024, with anticipated exports to other regional markets. This move aligns with Honda's commitment to advancing its electric vehicle portfolio and contributing to the global transition towards sustainable transportation.
