Honda Offers a Sneak Peak At Its First Electric SUV [Images]
Japanese auto giant, Honda Motors Company Ltd has partnered with General Motors GM to manufacture all electric SUV Prologue. Honda will get the batteries and powertrain for Honda EV from GM. The Honda first Electric Vehicle EV is set to be launched at the end of 2023 or in the starting of 2024.
In a recent development to go ahead with the project, the Honda has shared animated illustration of the Honda electric car Prologue. The illustration shows that the EV will contain a long wheelbase, short overhangs, and large wheels. The car is expected to have a long bonnet, sleek headlights, and a large front bumper. The EV by Honda will be featured with black cladding around the bottom and a strong shoulder line on the side.
As compared to previous concept for aggressive styled Honda electric car, the Prologue will have more civilized and mature design as revealed in the new illustration.
The automaker will manufacture the car on the EV platform and Ultium batteries from GM. Experts claim that the car company will produce the EV on platform and powertrains with the Cadillac Lyric, and other GM EVs. The company has not yet revealed the detailed features and performance of the car and expected to reveal on its official launch.
After launching Prologue as a first EV under Honda platform, the company will started the production of EVs accordingly. By 2026, the company will introduce more EV models. The Honda plans to sell 500,000 units of EVs by 2030.
