Honda is set to enter the Chinese electric vehicle market with the debut of the Ye S7, the first model under its , the first model under its new EV sub-brand. This sleek SUV, featuring a full-length panoramic sunroof, is designed to cater specifically to Chinese consumers and will be manufactured by Dongfeng Honda, a joint venture between Honda and Dongfeng Motor. The Ye S7 is based on Honda's all-electric Architecture W. According to China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the SUV measures 4,750 mm in length, 1,930 mm in width, and 1,625 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,930 mm. It will be powered by dual electric motors from United Automotive Electronic Systems, delivering a combined output of 350 kW (470 horsepower). The vehicle weighs 2,305 kg and can reach a top speed of 180 km/h, powered by lithium ternary batteries from CATL.

Strategic Importance

The introduction of the Ye S7 marks Honda’s continued efforts to penetrate the Chinese EV market. While Honda already markets EVs under the e and Lingxi brands, the Ye brand is crucial for Honda's goal to achieve 100% electrification in China by 2035.
