How To Fix Overheating Car Engine?

During the summer season, we face record-high temperature and extreme heat and this heat affects you and your car. The temperature gauge will move up during the hot days and they show that the engine of the car is heating up. The overheating car engine can be a serious issue. When you have to drive on the long route, you may face this issue. You can follow some tips, which can be helpful for you at the time of overheating of the car engine.

Don’t Switch Off the Engine Immediately

Most of the people switch off their car immediately, when they stop their car. When the engine is overheating, you do not switch off the car and park the car on the side of the road and keep the engine on for some time and let it cool down. Open the bonnet of the car and ensure that the engine is not hot.

You need to press the hose pipe to check the temperature of the engine. If it is cold, the pipe will be pressed. If it is not budging, then it means that the pipe has full pressure and opening of the radiator can be dangerous for your car.

Use a Towel

You need to place the towel on the radiator cap in order to protect your body and face from the hot water, which oozes out of the radiator. Pour water on the towel and let the radiator cool down and open the lid slowly to release the pressure of the hot water in the engine. You need to remove the cap and place it on the ground.

Pour Water into Radiator

You need to pour the water into the radiator and keep pouring water on it for some time till it is full. Then check the reservoir and fill it to the maximum sign. Now you should put the cap back on the radiator and lock it.

This tip will help you to tackle the issue of engine overheating. You need to handle it carefully as a little carelessness can cause physical injury.
