How to Get a Punjab Personalized Number Plate in Auction?
Earlier this September, we informed you about the Punjab government's plan to introduce a personalized number plate scheme, allowing vehicle owners to customize their number plates with names or company branding. Now, we bring you a step-by-step guide on how to obtain a vanity number plate through an auction.
How to Register
To start, register through the app or web portal by entering your details, including your CNIC, email, and phone number. These fields are mandatory. Once you've submitted your information, a One-Time Password (OTP) will be sent to your mobile or email. Enter the OTP to complete the registration process.
Log In and Select a Number
After successful registration, log in to the E-Auction app using your credentials. Navigate to the "E-Auction" section and choose your desired number. You must also enter your vehicle's chassis number from the sales invoice. Double-check the chassis number, as it cannot be altered after submission. A confirmation message will follow, and you can track your application status in the "My Applications" section.
Make Your Payment
You will receive a Payment Slip ID (PSID) via SMS, which includes the reserve value and participation fee. Pay Rs. 100 through mobile banking, ATM, or any bank. Once the payment is confirmed, your application will be authorized, and you can place your bid when the auction begins. A separate tab on the website will allow you to select a vanity number plate, which will be reviewed and approved by a scrutiny committee.
Categories of Number Plates
The personalized number plate scheme offers three categories for customization:
- Platinum Category: Allows up to eight characters, including names or meaningful words (e.g., "SARAH"). The base price is Rs. 5 million.
- Corporate Category: Designed for businesses, this category allows companies to display their brand names (e.g., COCA-COLA, PEPSI). It comes with a registration price of Rs. 10 million, plus additional fees for each registration mark.
- Gold Category: Allows a combination of three letters and three numbers. This category is priced at Rs. 0.5 million.
