Huawei Launches Luxeed S7 Electric Sedan in China
Huawei, the technology giant, has unveiled its latest addition to the electric vehicle market with the launch of the Luxeed S7 sedan in China. This new vehicle is part of the Luxeed brand, a venture in collaboration with Chery Auto, Huawei's joint venture partner and provider of the electric vehicle (EV) platform. Following the Aito brand, Luxeed marks Huawei's second foray into the automotive industry, and the S7 is the inaugural vehicle in a lineup poised for future expansion.
Positioned as a mid to large-size sedan, the Luxeed S7 comes in four distinct variants Pro, Max, Max+, and Max RS—each catering to different preferences and needs. The sedan boasts impressive dimensions, measuring 4,971 mm in length, 1,963 mm in width, and 1,474 mm in height, with a substantial wheelbase of 2,950 mm, surpassing comparable models in the D-segment.

Built on Huawei’s cutting-edge 800 V-based Giant Whale high-voltage platform, the Luxeed S7 demonstrates remarkable efficiency. A 5-minute charge yields a range of 215 km, while a 15-minute charge extends the range to 430 km. The vehicle is available in single-motor and dual-motor versions, offering varying power outputs and battery chemistries, from LFP for the entry-level model to NMC ternary for the Max+ Long Range variant.
The Luxeed S7's performance is noteworthy, with the most powerful variant accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 3.3 seconds. The sedan's aerodynamic design, featuring a drag coefficient of 0.203 Cd, surpasses even the Tesla Model S.
Equipped with advanced sensor technology, the Luxeed S7 integrates one lidar, three millimeter-wave radars, 12 ultrasonic radars, and 11 high-definition cameras. These sensors contribute to the Huawei ADS 2.0, part of a comprehensive technology package that includes the DriveOne powertrain on the hardware side and the high-level autonomous driving system HarmonyOS 4 on the software side.
During the launch event, Huawei announced its plans to make the Navigation Cruise Assist (NCA) available throughout China by the year's end. Comparable to Tesla's Full Self-Driving (FSD) software, NCA is part of the Huawei ADS Advanced Package, enhancing the vehicle's autonomous driving capabilities.

Notably, the Luxeed S7 has garnered significant attention, receiving 20,000 pre-sale orders within just three weeks since bookings opened on November 28. Customers ordering before December 31 are entitled to benefits worth 55,000 yuan ($7,800) from Huawei. These electric vehicles will be showcased in Huawei's flagship stores across China, further solidifying the company's presence in the rapidly evolving EV market., the technology giant, has unveiled its latest addition to the electric vehicle market with the launch of the Luxeed S7 sedan in China.
