This victory positions the Exter ahead of formidable competitors, including the Toyota Innova Hycross, MG Comet, Honda Elevate, Hyundai Verna, Mahindra XUV 400, and Maruti Suzuki Jimny. It's noteworthy that recent ICOTY winners encompass the Kia Carens, Mahindra XUV700, and Hyundai i20.

BMW 7 Series: Premium Car of the Year

In the realm of premium automobiles, the BMW 7 Series claims the coveted Premium Car of the Year award. This triumph places it atop the competition, with the Mercedes-Benz GLC securing the first runner-up position, followed by the BMW X1 as the second runner-up. The contenders for this esteemed title included the BMW X1, Range Rover Sport, Mercedes-Benz GLC, Hyundai Ioniq 5, BMW 7-series, Lexus RX, Volvo C40 Recharge, and Lexus LX.

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV stands out as the Green Car of the Year, according to the ICOTY jury. Notably, the BMW i7 and MG Comet EV are recognized as the first and second runner-ups in this eco-friendly category. The list of contenders for the Green Car Award featured the BMW i7, BYD Atto 3, Citroen eC3, Hyundai Ioniq 5, Mahindra XUV400, Mercedes-Benz EQE, MG Comet, and Volvo C40 Recharge.

ICOTY Jury's Thorough Review

The ICOTY Jury, consisting of Indian automotive journalists from esteemed magazines, publications, and media houses, played a crucial role in determining the winners. Comprising 18 journalists for the 2024 edition, each jury member rigorously tested the competing cars, with a maximum of 25 points to allocate. Importantly, no single vehicle could receive more than 10 points from a jury member, ensuring transparency in the evaluation process and minimizing the potential influence of any individual jury member on the outcomes.
