Hyundai Ioniq 5 N Hits US Markets in March

Hyundai officially unveiled the highly anticipated Ioniq 5 N 'hot hatchback' in July, and now the company is introducing this upcoming electric vehicle (EV) to the North American market. The EV is set to hit dealerships in the US in March 2024. However, the availability comes with a caveat - it will be in "limited quantities at select dealers in select states only."

In addition to the release timeframe, Hyundai has shared some specifications for the Ioniq 5 N. The EV features dual motors producing 478 kW (641 hp) with the "N Grin Boost" engaged. It utilizes a two-stage inverter and is equipped with a new 84 kWh battery. Accelerating from 0 to 97 km/h takes just 3.25 seconds, and the top speed is electronically limited to 261 km/h.

While Hyundai is keeping EPA range estimates under wraps, they assure that these figures will be "confirmed closer to the vehicle launch." The Ioniq 5 N will be offered in Performance Blue Matte, Abyss Black Pearl, Atlas White, and Soultronic Orange Pearl in the US, with Ecotronic Gray Matte expected to join the lineup later.

The success of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N could pave the way for N versions of other Hyundai EVs in the future. José Muñoz, president and CEO of Hyundai Motor North America, expressed confidence in the Ioniq 5 N's performance and technology, stating, "We are confident that both current Hyundai customers and new buyers will be impressed with the exceptional performance and technology of our new Ioniq 5 N."
