IMC Wins 20th Annual Environment Excellence Award

Indus Motor Company (IMC) stood out at the 20th Annual Environment Excellence Awards 2023, hosted by the National Forum of Environment & Health (NFEH), securing the prestigious Environment Excellence Award. His Excellency Bakheet Ateeq Al-Remeithi, Consul General of the UAE in Karachi, presented the award to Muhammad Arshad of IMC during a ceremony in Karachi.

Sustained Commitment to Sustainability

IMC's remarkable win signifies its thirteenth consecutive year receiving this award, highlighting the company's steadfast dedication to environmental sustainability and carbon footprint management. The award underscores IMC's vision and commitment to environmental sustainability, showcasing its numerous corporate social responsibility initiatives.

IMC's CEO on the Achievement

Ali Asghar Jamali, IMC's Chief Executive, expressed pride in the company's accomplishments and acknowledged the pressing need for environmental conservation. He reaffirmed IMC's ongoing efforts to manage its carbon footprint and its role as part of Toyota in guiding the nation toward carbon neutrality. He also revealed IMC's significant investment of US$100 Million in manufacturing the first hybrid electric vehicle with the highest localized content, set to debut in the market next year.

Advancing Environmental Sustainability

Aligned with Toyota's "Environmental Challenge 2050," IMC remains resolute in its commitment to environmental sustainability. The company employs initiatives such as water conservation, recycling, and the installation of Pakistan's largest solar plant within the automotive industry. IMC currently generates up to 15% of its energy consumption through solar power and aspires to do even more, emphasizing the potential of every small initiative to create a ripple effect and leave a lasting impact on society.
