Introducing the 2025 BMW X3: What's New?
In 2023, BMW saw remarkable success with the X3, delivering 350,000 units, making it the top-selling model in their lineup. Surpassing even the iconic 3 Series Sedan in popularity, the X3 has been a favorite among luxury crossover enthusiasts since its introduction in 2017. However, BMW isn't resting on its laurels; a new model is on the horizon, set to be officially unveiled in a matter of weeks.
Sneak peeks of camouflaged prototypes hint at what's to come, with images showcasing both plug-in hybrid and M Performance variants. Notably, the high-performance model will feature a quad exhaust system, a departure from previous models and a move typically reserved for BMW's renowned M series. This shift in nomenclature suggests a change from "M40i" to "M50," marking a departure from the traditional "i" designation.
While exciting developments are underway, there's disappointment for some as the electrified model may not initially be available in the United States. Despite this setback, BMW promises upgrades such as an improved battery for enhanced electric range in the new X3.
Internally known as the "G45," the 2025 BMW X3 boasts a sleeker design and improved aerodynamics compared to its predecessor. With a wider track and reduced lift at the rear axle, engineers have focused on enhancing both performance and comfort. Optional features include an adaptive chassis and advanced safety technology, while the interior receives a modern overhaul with touchscreen functionality.
Looking ahead, BMW plans to introduce the iX3, an electric vehicle built on their innovative Neue Klasse platform. Set to debut next year, the iX3 promises a unique driving experience with a redesigned dashboard and spacious interior. Meanwhile, the next-generation X3, offering gasoline, diesel, and plug-in hybrid options, is set to hit the market in the coming weeks, reaffirming BMW's commitment to innovation and excellence.
