Islamabad Police to Offer Permanent Licenses to Expats

In a bid to facilitate Pakistani expatriates, the Islamabad Capital Territory Police (ICTP) has announced the issuance of permanent driving licenses. The Federal Interior Minister, Rana Sanaullah, recommended the plan to help ex-pat Pakistanis, and the police chief has been directed to finalize the system and implement it on an urgent basis. Ex-pats are also advised to check out these questions of the Driving License Test.

According to a police spokesman, a new facility will be established at Faizabad's new Traffic Head Office to cater to this purpose. The modern system's launch is set to be overseen by the Capital Police Officer (CPO) Safe City and Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Islamabad, and it is expected to start functioning in mid-May.

Overseas Pakistanis with foreign driving licenses can now easily obtain an Islamabad driving license after verifying their records. Applicants are required to complete a short training course before receiving their licenses, and renewal can be done online using biometric verification. These initiatives are aimed at modernizing public services to facilitate overseas Pakistanis, and Islamabad IGP, Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, Stated:
Women and overseas nationals will particularly benefit from these innovative initiatives
