Islamabad Renames Infrastructure in Honor of National Heroes

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has recently undertaken the task of attributing Islamabad's prominent roads, bridges, metro stations, and underpasses to national heroes, thereby immortalizing their contributions and sacrifices in the city's infrastructure.

Sector G-7's Service Road West has been dedicated to Pir Sibghatullah Shah Rashidi, affectionately known as Pir Pagara, originating from Khairpur, Sindh. Meanwhile, the G-11 Service Road East has been linked to the late Mahmood Ali, a devoted member of the Tehreek-e-Pakistan.

In a tribute to Dr. Jamil Jalibi, a distinguished critic, researcher, and literary figure, the Metro Station Pak Secretariat now bears his name, recognizing his significant impact on the cultural landscape.

Posthumously honoring Brigadier Mustafa Burki, who sacrificed his life on March 21, 2023, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Major Road connecting F-11/3 and F-11/4 now carries his name. Brigadier Mustafa Burki's association with the ISI adds a layer of recognition to his service.

The Rawal Dam Underpass has been named in memory of Naveed Sadiq Sial, who lost his life on January 3, 2023, in Khanewal. Naveed Sial, affiliated with the ISI, is remembered through this infrastructure dedication.

These namings stand as a poignant commemoration, creating a lasting legacy in Islamabad's infrastructure, ensuring that the contributions and sacrifices of these individuals remain etched in the city's history.
