Karachi Public Transport To Be Modernized Within Two Years

The Government of Sindh is planning to modernize the public transport in Karachi. In this regard two projects will be launched for bus networks on dedicated lanes with the financial aid of the World Bank WB and the Asian Development Bank ADB as per the report of Bloomberg.

In a recent interview, the Provincial Minister for Transport and Mass Transit, Syed Awais Qadir Shah revealed that Red Line Project will be initiated with the funding of $550 million by ADB this month, while the WB funded Project for $445 million will be started before the end of this year. Both projects will be completed within two years. According to minister, 280 custom built buses will be received under the ADB funded Red Line Project.
