Kia EV6 Gets New Look and Bigger Battery

KIA groundbreaking electric vehicle, the EV6, is receiving a substantial refresh in Korea. The updated EV6 will debut in the Korean market next month, with international availability to follow soon after.

Impressive Sales
Since its launch in 2021, the EV6 has achieved remarkable sales, exceeding 210,000 units worldwide. Kia is continuing to innovate by introducing a mid-cycle update to maintain the EV6's position at the forefront of electric vehicle technology and performance.

New Refreshed EV6 Features
The new refreshed EV6 comes with a futuristic design, inspired by its sibling, the EV9. It sports angular headlights that give it a dynamic and sleek look. Kia is offering both the standard model and the EV6 GT-Line, the latter distinguished by a unique front light bar. Both trims have updated bumpers and new 19- and 20-inch alloy wheel options, while the overall profile remains unchanged.

Interior Upgrades
Inside, the new refreshed  Kia EV6 boasts several updates, including a new three-spoke steering wheel and an updated frame for the dual screens. Significant additions include a fingerprint authentication system, a 12.0-inch heads-up display, and a digital rearview mirror. Kia has also addressed customer feedback by removing the glossy piano black trim from the center console, which was prone to fingerprints.

Enhanced Features
The Kia EV6 has received several upgrades to improve safety, comfort, and performance. These enhancements include second-row side airbags, thicker B-pillars for increased body rigidity, quieter electric motors, and refined shock absorbers for a smoother ride. Improved sound insulation materials around the rear motor contribute to a quieter cabin.

Larger Battery
A key enhancement is the introduction of an 84.0-kilowatt-hour battery pack, which upgrades the former 77.4-kilowatt-hour version. This larger battery significantly improves charging speed, enabling the EV6 to reach 80% capacity in only 18 minutes with a 350-kilowatt charger. Additionally, the rear-wheel-drive EV6 Long Range model now achieves a longer range of 494 kilometers, compared to the previous 474 kilometers, according to local testing standards.
