Locally Assembled Corolla Will Arrive In 2023

The Indus Motors Company IMC is now manufacturing locally assembled unit and now the IMC is planning for bringing its locally assembled car the Toyota Corolla Cross. According to recent exciting news the company announced that the company is about to launch it’s first locally assembled electric car Corolla Cross in Pakistan. The local assembled EV by Toyota will be make its official debut somewhere in 2023. The Toyota Corolla Cross will be a Hybrid Electric Vehicle HEV SUV.

During the 6th Journalist Summit 2022 organized by the company at Muzaffarabad, Azad Kashmir, the IMC CEO, Ali Asghar Jamali said:

“Yes, we are planning to launch our first-ever locally-assembled HEV SUV,”

Regarding “Made in Pakistan” Philosophy, the IMC CEO added further:

The Toyota Pakistan has made investment of 100 million dollars to manufacture the HEVs in Pakistan.

Locally Assembled Corolla Cross Price

As for the Locally Assembled Corolla Cross Price in Pakistan, the CEO Jamali said that the car price would be around 5 million rupees to 7 million rupees.

Jamali said that currently there is no well-developed infrastructure for the EVs in Pakistan so the HEVs are the midterm solution before EVs.

According to Jamali:

“Pakistan can reduce oil imports by up to 50 %, if all cars are converted to HEVs,”

If new Toyota EV, the locally assembled Corolla Cross Price is between 5 to 7 million rupees then the car will compete with other SUVs available in the market and will be a great addition in the HEV segment of local industry. The Toyota HEV Corolla Cross will easily dominate the market in this category.
