Master Changan Sets Record with Pakistan Exports

In a remarkable display of innovation, Master Changan Motors Ltd (MCML), a collaborative endeavor with Changan International, has achieved a groundbreaking feat by exporting the initial batch of 14 Oshan X7s to Kenya. These vehicles are destined for the Kenyan and Tanzanian markets, marking a pivotal moment in the automotive industry. This achievement comes hot on the heels of last year's accomplishment when a sample unit found its way to a country in the Oceania region.

Pioneering Pakistan's SUV Export Revolution

Master Changan Motors Ltd has etched its name in history as Pakistan's pioneering exporter of technologically advanced SUVs produced entirely in Pakistan. The Oshan X7, a marvel of Pakistani engineering, is poised to be the first SUV to grace international markets. This landmark achievement coincides with the 10th-anniversary celebration of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), showcasing the deep economic ties between Pakistan and China.

Danial Malik, the CEO, stated:

“We are taking our next major step to achieve our vision of making Master Changan a part of Changan’s global vehicle supply chain under the ‘Vast Ocean Plan’, while putting Pakistan on the map for producing and exporting high-quality vehicles to the world. Kenya and Tanzania are one of the many countries where Master Changan Motors plans to leave its mark, as we look to expand our export volumes.”

Changan's 'Vast Ocean' Plan for International Expansion

On April 18th, 2023, at the prestigious 2023 Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition, Mr. Zhu Huarong, Chairman of Changan Automobile, unveiled the ambitious 'Vast Ocean' plan. This strategic initiative is designed to accelerate Changan's global expansion, propelling it to world-class status.

A substantial investment of US$10 billion is earmarked for the international market, with a core focus on intelligent, low-carbon technology. Changan's aspirations extend across Europe, America, the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), aiming to penetrate 90% of the world's markets by 2030. Notably, Master Changan Pakistan, serving as Changan's right-hand drive (RHD) manufacturing hub, will play a pivotal role in executing the 'Vast Ocean' plan and catering to RHD markets on a global scale.

Promoting Pakistani Auto Exports:

The export of 'Made in Pakistan' vehicles is intricately tied to the Federal Government's policies aimed at bolstering and incentivizing the domestic automotive industry. Collaborative efforts between the government and the automotive sector have yielded proposals to facilitate the long-term viability of auto exports.

Danial Malik remarked, stating

”We sincerely thank our government for the auto export policy 2021-2026. However, the auto industry needs the government to create policies that increase volumes locally which in turn will improve economies of scale, support deeper localization, and encourage automakers to improve their global competitiveness.”

The Oshan X7 2023 emerges as a class-leading SUV in a league of its own, boasting impressive dimensions that command attention. This marvel of Pakistani engineering is powered by a 1.5L turbocharged engine, achieving an efficient fuel average of 14-15 km per liter, capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 8.23 seconds. Beyond its remarkable performance, the Oshan X7 captivates with its contemporary design and lavish interior. It excels in offering a range of state-of-the-art features, including Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Forward Collision Warning (FW), and the luxury of heated and vented seats.
