MG To Launch First Locally Manufactured Electric Car

Morris Garages MG Pakistan is now set to make a remarkable entrance in the Electric Vehicles EV market in Pakistan with a launch of an electric car soon. The electric car lineup will be locally assembled in Pakistan. The Key stakeholder, Javed Afridi has told a media house recently.

According to Javed Afridi, the MG will bring the MG ZSD EV as the first EV in Pakistan which will be assembled locally in Pakistan. Remember that MG ZS is already available as petrol powered version of MG ZS in Pakistan. It was launched as a CBU unit. The electric version of ZS will be assembled in Local assembly plant at Lahore.

MG To Launch First Locally Manufactured Electric Car


The EV variant of ZS will reportedly be powered by a 44.5 kWh battery that powers a front-mounted electric motor capable of generating 105 kW 140 hp and 350 Nm of torque.

MG HS PHEV

The MG HS plugin hybrid variant will be powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine, which, after mating with a 90 kW electric motor, generates 256 hp and 370 Nm of torque that is sent to the front wheels via a 10-speed automatic transmission. It also features a 16.6 kWh battery pack that allows for onboard charging that flows at a rate of 3.7 kWh.
