Witnessed first during testing in China last August, the forthcoming iteration of the MG3 hatchback is now undergoing trials in Sydney, Australia, with recent MG3 Spy Images capturing a camouflaged test mule on the internet.

Innovative Design Shifts:

The imminent third generation of the MG3 hatchback displays a revolutionary shift from the prevailing model's design trends. Exhibiting MG's latest design language, it notably diverges from the styling of the model that debuted in 2011, which underwent numerous facelifts. Interestingly, the New MG3 shares similarities with a hatchback rendition of the MG5 also recognized as MG GT in several markets.

Revamped Interior with Modern Features

The interior of the MG3 has undergone a substantial transformation compared to its forerunner. Noteworthy features include a double-D cut multi-function steering wheel, dual freestanding screens on the dashboard (serving as an instrument panel and central multimedia unit), and a rotary dial replacing the conventional lever for gear selection. Additionally, the center stack now integrates an electronic parking brake and other functions. A notable addition is the incorporation of a sunroof.

Hybrid Powertrain Option and Safety Boost

The all-new MG3 will offer a hybrid powertrain option alongside the conventional gasoline engine version. The hybrid configuration comprises a 1.5L engine producing 109 hp and 142 Nm, working in tandem with an electric motor generating 95 hp and 200 Nm. Although a turbocharged engine option is under consideration, MG has not officially confirmed it. Anticipate an enhancement in safety equipment in the upcoming model.

Affordable Tech Marvel
Despite integrating hybrid technology and other innovations, MG Motor Australia & New Zealand CEO Peter Ciao assures that the New MG3 Facelift will maintain its 'affordable' status. This commitment to affordability is a pivotal factor in the current model's popularity, consistently leading to small car sales in Australia. Priced under $20,000 AUD, the MG3 competes strongly, outselling rivals like the Suzuki Swift, Kia Rio, and Mazda2.

Global Launch of MG3

Beyond Australia and New Zealand, the MG3 2024 is accessible in other right-hand drive markets such as Thailand and the UK, where it has achieved respectable sales figures. The official launch of the all-new MG3 hatchback in international markets is projected to occur in the first quarter of 2024.

Eagerly Waiting for MG3

Javed Afridi's hints regarding the MG3 being priced below Rs 2.0 million in Pakistan stirred anticipation. However, over two and a half years have passed without substantiated evidence. With the impending launch of the next-generation MG3, uncertainties arise concerning its pricing in Pakistan—whether it will fall below Rs 20.0 lac and if Afridi will introduce the new model or opt for the outgoing version.
