MUST Students Introduce Pakistan’s First Self Driving Car
The self driving cars are being worked on these days as Google made them BMW on this project. Tesla is launched the new model of the car and Ford is also going to make the self driving car and various others are also working on the bandwagon. These large enterprises are working on this project to get it.

The students of Mirpur University of Science and Information Technology MUST CS & IT department are working on this project with the development of the self driving car under the guidance of Prof Dr Muaz Niazi and the Asst Prof Faisal Riaz. Under the banner of Intelligent Transport Lab, MUST, this project was being undertaken.
EMO – Prototype
The developers of the self driving cars call it EMO and it is the first prototype developed car in the period of over two years and half with the cost of Rs. 0.6 million. They also claimed that they received the amount from different sources including their university and the students and staff, who invested their own money in this project.

The team has developed this self driving car, which is showcased at MUST Olympiad 2017 and the famous Atomic Scientist, Dr Samar Mubarakmand has inaugurated this self driving car and he hopes that this car will go in the mainstream and car the companies will invest in this technology of the self driving car.
EMO is the acronym for dual seater car and EMO stands for Emotions Enabled Autonomous Vehicle. The research work has been carried out and the team says that unlike all other developing autonomous cars, this car is used with the human inspired design and it allows the car to make it cognitive decisions, which are based on the emotional cues. The prototype car is already running and the team claims that this self driving car has the following features:
• Google Maps based mapping system. Also used to drive the car around
• Car control using an attached tablet
• Passenger Communication System
• 360 degree Field of View using long and short range sonars
• Emotions Inspired Collision Avoidance
• Vehicle-2-Infrastrure Communication
• Vehicle-2-Vehicle Communication System
• Auto-Accident Reporting
The hardware of the car was designed locally and internationally and the software of the self driving car was designed, which has been coded at ITS lab. The team makes the plan to incorporate the security features in this car.

The research team has released the promo video of the car and they take a look at the video, which is given below so that they can see the car while running.
Research Team

The research team of this project works under the guidance of Professor Dr Muaz Niazi and Assistant Professor Faisal Riaz and there are 12 other students, who are also working on this project.
Final Words
The research team is working on this great project and they got tremendous success and we would like to congratulate them for their wonderful and elegant achievement. They got success despite of the lack of resources and funding and match them with the international giants. This project shows the great potential of the students of this university and the learned professors and scholars assisted the students and provided them proper platform.

As this car is prototype and it is lacked with some big components to prevent it from being road legal. We also hope that this research team will continue its working and they launch the final project, which is ready for Pakistani roads. It is hoped that Pakistani cars become the normal and the accidents will be reduced.
