New Electric Vehicle Is Launched In Pakistan

Far last two year Government is trying its best to convert to auto sector in to electrical vehicles. In this regard government has taken various initiatives including new Electrical Vehicles EV Policy and introduction of new EV companies in the country. However, more work is needed to be done in this regard yet.

Gugu Motors Pakistan a subsidiary of Tesla has launched an electric vehicle “Sokon Ruichi Tourer 250” in Pakistan. This EV is actually a minivan.

The new electric minivan is powered by a single electric motor with a battery capacity up to 42KWH. The motor generates a torque of 200Nm and 80hp which is enough for a commercial minivan.

The customer can register this new electric car in Islamabad free of cost as government has announced free registration for electric vehicles.



According to sources 11 passengers can easily sit in this minivan. The minivan can cover area of 250KM. The minivan is featured with dual-zone air-conditioning, regenerative braking, parking sensors, an android-based-infotainment system, and a 7 kW onboard AC charger. The minivan can also be used for cargo purpose as it has wide space to handle the load.

According to an image shared by GuGU Motors on Social Media:

“Limited dealerships available. Must have a strong presence in the market,” which implies that the company has invited “limited dealerships” that have a “strong presence in the market” to obtain distribution rights in Pakistan, and that the vehicle is yet to be viewed frequently on the roads.
