Online Driving Licenses Now Available Again in Sindh

The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the Driving License Branch has revealed plans to restart online license issuance next week. This decision was made during a meeting chaired by Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ghulam Nabi Memon, highlighting the administration's commitment to improving public services.

The meeting focused on enhancing the efficiency and accessibility of the online driving license issuance process. Key resolutions included the reactivation of online services for both learning and international driving licenses, aiming to simplify and expedite the application procedure for citizens.

Participants were also introduced to a new system for online license renewals. This system is designed to streamline the renewal process by integrating various services such as fee payments, bank transaction details, and the submission of medical fitness certificates, all within the online platform. This integration is expected to reduce the time and effort required for license renewals, making it more convenient for applicants.

Additionally, the meeting addressed the importance of medical fitness and eye exams, particularly for Pakistanis residing abroad. Proposals were discussed to ensure these examinations could be efficiently managed within the online system, facilitating smoother license issuance and renewal processes for overseas citizens.

The IGP announced that the online driving license system would initially be launched on an experimental basis to monitor its effectiveness and make necessary adjustments. Furthermore, a proposal for a mobile van service was considered to enhance accessibility, providing on-the-go services to citizens and reducing the need for visits to the driving license offices.

These initiatives reflect a significant step towards modernizing public services and improving the overall user experience for driving license applicants in Sindh.
