Online Premium Number Plates Auction in Sindh Starts Today

Sindh Excise and Taxation Department is holding Pakistan’s first online auction for premium number plates today. Consumers can bid for exclusive plates in Platinum, Gold, and Silver categories. Although this is the second auction for premium number plates in Sindh, the first one took place in June 2024, where the iconic “A1” number plate was sold for a staggering Rs. 1 crore. Additionally, the next physical auction is set for October 12, 2024.

Funds for Flood Victims

The funds raised from the online bidding will be directed towards the Sindh People’s Housing Project, which aims to support flood victims in the province. This initiative not only provides consumers with the opportunity to own premium number plates but also helps contribute to a significant cause.

The Appeal of Premium Number Plates

According to the Sindh Excise website, the Premium Number Allocation System ensures a structured distribution of prestigious vehicle registration numbers. These numbers are considered special due to their unique patterns and sequences, making them highly desirable among vehicle owners. Periodically, these exclusive plates are made available to the public through auctions.

How to Participate in the Auction

To participate in the online auction, interested individuals need to download the Sindh Excise Department App or visit the department's website. The steps are as follows:

Register online within three days and select the desired number.
Place bids during the online auction and secure the premium number plate.
If the payment is not completed by the deadline, the number will be re-auctioned, and the security deposit forfeited.

Physical bidding will also be held soon in Karachi, following the completion of the online auction.
