Orange Line Train Test Runs Starts from Today

The orange Line Train will be started in Lahore very soon. The project is manufactured for the local people of Lahore in order to provide them fast and hassle free journey to the people so that they can avoid the traffic congestion on the roads. According to the local media outlet, the CM of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif will inaugurate the test run of Orange Line Metro Train from Dera Gujran to Lakshmi Chowk at about 4 pm.
The chief engineer and the concerned people contact to the company officials were present there at the event. When the test run was conducted, the small ceremony will be managed and the briefing will be given to CM about this mega project. The construction of this mega project was started in 2015 and this rail line is 27 kilometers long and it was decided to make it functional by mid of 2017. This mega project was got delayed because of the legal issue as it trample over the cultural heritage sites.

In the initial phase, about 1000 people can travel in a go and the train will serve up to 250,000 people each day. The Punjab government has made the commitment to increase the capacity of passengers up to 500,000 per day by the 2025. The route is divided into two parts and one is elevated part, which is 25.4 kilometer and the other is underground section, which is 1.7 kilometer long. Total 26 stations are constructed and 24 stations are elevated and 2 stations are underground. The Orange Line Metro Train is the second mega project in Lahore after completion of Metro bus services.
