Pak Suzuki Halts Car Plant and Bike Production

Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC) has announced an extension of its plant shutdown owing to inventory constraints.

In an official statement, the automaker disclosed that its automobile plant will remain closed from October 30 to November 3. Additionally, the motorcycle plant will halt operations from November 1 to November 3.

Previously, Pak Suzuki had initially planned a two-day shutdown for its automobile plant from October 25 to October 27.

It's noteworthy that Pak Suzuki is not the sole automotive manufacturer facing production interruptions. Toyota Indus Motor Company (IMC) has ceased operations for a month, with plans to resume on November 17, while Honda Atlas has temporarily suspended its operations from October 24 to October 31.

Despite a recent uptick in the Pakistani rupee's value against the US dollar, most major automakers have not revised their prices. News of Honda Atlas reducing its motorcycle prices had circulated on social media, but this was contradicted by a prominent Honda bike dealer, who confirmed that price reductions were not imminent.
KIA and MG are exceptions, being the only companies to substantially reduce car prices. KIA introduced price cuts of up to Rs. 500,000, while MG reduced the price of the HS Essence by Rs. 600,000.
