Petrol Prices Increased Again For Third Time

The Government of Pakistan has been increasing petrol prices in the country. Previously, Govt revised the petrol prices twice. Now, the bad news is that the government has increased the prices of petroleum products once. This is for third time; the prices of petroleum products have been increased.

1st Increase in Petrol Prices

The government announced the first increase in petrol prices on 16th June 2021. The government increased the petrol prices in first price hike by 2.13 rupees per liter.

2nd Price Hike of Petrol

After first price hike, the government announced the second hike in the petrol prices on 1st July 2021. For the second time, government announced an increase of petrol prices up to 2 rupees per liter.

Increase In Petrol Prices for 3rd Time

And now after 15 days, the government has increased the prices of petrol for the third time on 16th July 2021. For this time government has announced to increase the petrol price by 5.4 rupees per liter.

OGRA Proposal For Petrol Price Increase

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority OGRA forwarded a summary to the Petroleum Division and proposed an increase in the prices of petroleum products as follows:

Petrol Price 11.5 Rs
High Speed Diesel 2.40 Rs
Light Speed Diesel 1.40 Rs
Kerosene Oil 1.50 Rs

Approval of New Prices and Changes In Proposed Prices

After reviewing the petroleum products prices proposed by OGRA, Prime Minister, Imran Khan approved the proposal with some changes in the prices. Finally, Ministry of Finance announced the new petrol prices and price of petrol is increased by 5.4 rupees and price of diesel is increased up to 2.54 rupees.
