Months after the launch of the facelifted Peugeot 2008, the French car giant has now unveiled an exciting update to their Peugeot 208 hatchback. The latest version of the model comes with impressive visual upgrades and offers an immersive and captivating driving experience.
Design
The front fascia of the car showcases the updated lion badge, with three elongated vertical light claws and a distinctive light signature that seamlessly extends into the full-LED headlights. These elements create a visual connection with the vertical bars on the bumper. The grille features a revised pattern and body-colored accents, blending harmoniously with the bumper. This unique front-light attribute is now present in all versions of the new 208. The same face design was first introduced in the 9X8 Hypercar and has been revised in the 508 and 508 SW. Additionally, the car boasts fresh two-tone 16- and 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and an X-shaped center cap with the new corporate logo.

Interior
Inside the cabin, the Peugeot 208 offers an ultra-modern interior in its segment, thanks to the i-Cockpit. The luxurious black Alcantara upholstery, adorned with Adamite Green stitching (optional in the GT variant), adds to its striking appearance. The car features a standard 10-inch touchscreen and a digital instrument cluster of the same size, but with a new design. Additional updates can be found in the 208 GT, including new ambient lighting and a revised gearshift knob for the manual transmission models. The automatic models retain the same selector that Peugeot has been using since early 2022. The steering wheel now incorporates the new logo, and the GT variant offers optional black Alcantara upholstery with Adamite Green stitching, along with Adamite Green accents on the armrests and dashboard.

Power
In terms of engine options, the entry-level 208 is equipped with a 1.2-liter, three-cylinder engine that delivers 75 horsepower through a five-speed manual transmission. The more powerful variant offers 100 horsepower and is paired with a six-speed manual transmission. For those interested in a mild-hybrid engine, the 208 is available in either 100 or 136 horsepower, paired with a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The E-208 model is powered by an electric motor that delivers 156 horsepower and is equipped with a 51-kWh battery pack, providing a range of 249 miles (400 kilometers) in the WLTP combined cycle.
Charging
The E-208 supports charging at a rate of 100 kW, allowing for a quick charge time of less than 25 minutes to go from 20 to 80 percent battery capacity. At a lower charging rate of 7.4 kW, the charging time is approximately 4 hours and 40 minutes, while at 3.2 kW, it will take around 11 hours and 10 minutes.
Availability
Peugeot plans to make the facelifted 208 available for sale in November. Since its launch in late 2019, nearly one million units of this generation have been sold.Related Auto News Updates
