Proton Pakistan Celebrates A Milestone

Proton Pakistan following Morris Garages MG Pakistan footsteps and celebrated on selling 1000 units in Lahore by posting a picture of the celebration on social media. This is definitely an important milestone for Proton, whether it's just the X70 SUV o r the Saga sedan.

The company launched the X20 SUV in December 2020 in the Pakistani market. However, although the X70 is a cheap but solid competitor, it is not commonly seen on the road like some other SUVs in the market such as KIA Sportage, MGHS and Hyundai Tucson.

Reports suggest that when the X70 is about to experience popularity in the Pakistani market, SUVs are really on the road.

Reports from Paultan.org, a reliable automotive news site in Malaysia, indicate that Proton is struggling to maintain demand for SUVs in Pakistan and is awaiting SUV reservations. This list takes 6 to 9 months after all CBU unit SUVs are withdrawn from the market.

A few weeks after its launch, the Saga sedan is still a hot topic among auto buyers as it is the C-segment sedan that offers great value for those looking for a subcompact family sedan.

The Proton's 1,000-unit brand was slightly lower than expected, possibly due to difficulties in supply and demand for the X70 SUV. However, the local car assembly is about to begin, and with the popularity of the saga as well as the overall growing demand for cars in Pakistan for a long time, the only way to sell Proton may continue.
