Proton Pakistan Returns to Manufacturing

Proton Pakistan has announced the revival of its production activities after a hiatus attributed to governmental policies and the prevailing macroeconomic conditions. The company expressed gratitude towards its customers for their patience and understanding regarding the production and delivery setbacks.

Milestones Ahead: Proton SAGA and Proton X70 Production

Marking a significant stride, Proton Pakistan is set to achieve two major milestones. The month of August heralds the recommencement of Proton SAGA's production, followed by the anticipated revival of Proton X70's production in October later this year.

Shift in Gears: Restructuring of Dealer Network

Proton Pakistan has also revealed alterations in its dealer network landscape. Opting to establish an enhanced 3S dealership network in Lahore and Faisalabad, the company has transitioned to superior alternate dealerships. This shift led to the departure of a few previous dealerships, who also declared the conclusion of their partnership with Proton Pakistan. New dealerships have joined the network, assuming the responsibility of serving customers in Lahore and Faisalabad.

Proton Pakistan's Delivery Update

The automotive industry faced delays in deliveries due to the confluence of COVID-19 and politico-economic factors. Notably, Proton Cars 2023 stood out as its customers endured prolonged waiting times for deliveries that were anticipated since 2022. A distressed customer of Proton Pakistan reached out to share their experience. Reportedly, approximately 130 individuals who had fully paid for the Proton X70 through Al-Haj Automotive are still awaiting delivery even after a year.

Furthermore, the company exhibited delays in refunding cheques to its customers. The underlying causes of these production delays were attributed to challenges such as delayed opening of LCs (Letters of Credit) and supply shortages arising from the lingering effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
