Proton X50 Will Be Launched In Pakistan o r Not

The Proton X50 is a subcompact crossover SUV and is set to be launched in Pakistan. As we all know that Proton has recently partnered with Al Haj Automotiove Group and plans to assemble its vehicles in Pakistan locally. The company has also unveiled the X70 SUV and Saga Sedan which hints towards the launch of the Proton X50.

The Proton X50 will make its official debut in Pakistan as a Complete Built Unit CBU. It will be passed through testing phase locally and later it will be assembles domestically in Pakistan.

Exterior of Proton X50

The Proton X50 looks like the X70 and borrows many design elements from X70. The front of the X50 has the same Proton Grille called “Infinite Weave Grille”. The car also has standard front LED projector headlight + LED DRL. The base model lacks Fog lamps.
The bumper of the X50 gives a sporty look. It is featured with C pillar, hrome strips, rear side LED taillights, rear spoiler with a stop lamp and the wiper, top variant with 215/55/ 18″ and lower variant comes with 215/60 17″ alloys. Rood rails are not standard and also come on the top two versions.















Engine And Mechanics

The Proton X50 is installed with a a 1477cc/ 1.5L with three-cylinder Turbo Engine. The high end model is equipped with DI/ Direct Injection, and it makes around 174HP while 255NM of torque.

The remaining three variants of the Proton X50 come with MPI/ Multi-Point injection system, and power s to 148Hp while torque is 226NM. All variants of the X50 are equipped with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission with manual mode same as in X70. All versions of the X50 comes with Eco, Normal and Sport as drive modes. X50 is front-wheel drive only. As per Malaysian reports, X50 has a fuel economy of 6.5L to 100 kilometres.

The 1.5L 3 cylinder Turbo with Direct Injection on the top variant of X50, as in Malaysia, is same engine setup as in the Pakistan X70. Keep in mind that the Malaysian spec X70 is not available with a 1.5L engine; instead, it is offered with 1.8L Turbo GDI.

Interior and Features:

The interior of the Proton X 50 also same as of X70 like exterior . The dashboard has metallic trim panels. The driver instrumental panel is also same as iN the Proton X70, but here, the 7″ full-LED digital cluster is only available on the top two variants while the basic versions get the conventional gauges type instrumental panel.



The front passenger will have a grab-handle as well. The gear lever is also same as in the X70. Eco & Sport buttons are provided for driving modes next to it. Hill descent control, 360 view camera and parking sensors button is also available on the central console.



The basic infotainment system is an 8″ touch screen, while a 10.25″ is available in the top variants, a Panoramic roof is available but on top of the line version only. This can be called first in the segment for our market. The top variant of X50 also comes with Proton Link App to access remote vehicle status and other features.
