Punjab Government Takes Action

As outlined in the notification, all city traffic police (CTP) departments across Punjab will maintain a comprehensive record book. This record book will contain a daily list of bikers who have faced legal action due to non-compliance with the helmet rule. By implementing this record-keeping system, the authorities can effectively monitor the enforcement process and maintain accountability.

To ensure the smooth functioning of this system, the CTP has mandated that the record book be submitted promptly at 09:00 AM each day. This provision establishes a clear timeline for record-keeping, enabling efficient monitoring and evaluation of the enforcement efforts.

With field officers now bound by this requirement, it is expected that the authorities will adopt an extra-aggressive approach to enforcing the mandatory helmet rule. This increased emphasis on compliance underscores the importance of biker safety in Punjab.
