Punjab Introduces New Vehicle Registration Policy

Punjab Introduces New Vehicle Registration Policy
The Punjab government has introduced Punjab vehicle registration changes to the Motor Vehicles Ordinance 1965, enabling vehicles registered in other provinces to be re-registered in Punjab. The Punjab new Vehicle registration policy is set to take effect next month, with all necessary rules and procedures already finalized.
According to excise officials, vehicle owners from Sindh, Islamabad, and other provinces can now transfer their registrations to Punjab after obtaining a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from their respective Motor Registration Authorities.
The re-registration fee will be lower than the cost of new registrations, making it a more economical option.
Additionally, Punjab will accept token taxes already paid in Sindh and Islamabad, preventing double taxation for vehicle owners. In the next phase, authorities plan to introduce e-pay services to allow digital payments for re-registration.
Punjab Excise and Taxation Director General Umar Sher Chattha stated that the initiative will not only simplify the registration process for citizens but also contribute to provincial revenue.
While some vehicle owners and dealers see the move as a positive step, others remain concerned about potential procedural challenges. The government aims to address these concerns and ensure a smooth transition once the Punjab vehicle registration Updates policy is implemented.
The Punjab car registration update marks a significant step towards streamlining the vehicle registration process, making it easier for owners to comply with regulations while benefiting from a more efficient system.
