Road Prince ATV Loader Rickshaw Price & Loophole

Yesterday, Road Prince, a leading manufacturer of locally assembled motorcycles, unveiled its all-new 4-wheeler off-road ATV 200cc loader pickup. At first glance, one might wonder why anyone would take a small 200cc loader pickup off-road after loading it with weight. However, there’s a strategic reason behind this release: Road Prince aims to exploit a loophole in Excise regulations.

Price Tag and Comparison
The price of this unconventional ATV loader is surprisingly steep at Rs. 830,000. For that amount, buyers could easily purchase a used 2015-17 model Suzuki Ravi, a fully road-legal 800cc commercial pickup truck. This pricing, confirmed via Road Prince's official Facebook page, raises questions about the value offered by this tiny 200cc vehicle, which is not even road-legal.

Exploiting the Excise Loophole
In Pakistan, the use of All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs) on public roads is illegal. Despite having engines and four wheels, ATVs are designed specifically for off-road use, preventing them from being registered with the Excise Department. Road Prince has cleverly positioned its new loader pickup as an ATV, thus capitalizing on this regulatory gap while effectively marketing it for urban ro
ads.

Legal Implications and Market Strategy
If challenged legally for producing a vehicle that cannot legally be driven on roads, Road Prince could easily argue that the ATV loader is intended solely for off-road use. This strategy allows the company to disavow responsibility if users choose to drive it on public roads. In a country where traffic laws are often loosely enforced, this marketing approach enables Road Prince to introduce another unregistered vehicle to the streets, similar to their previous three-wheeler loaders.

Availability and Delivery
According to the company, the ATV loader is available for a full booking price, with delivery promised within 1-2 days in Lahore. However, delivery times for other cities may vary. This swift availability aims to attract customers looking for innovative and cost-effective solutions, despite the legal and ethical implications of the product's use on public roads.
