Suzuki Wagon R Bookings Suspended – New Model Coming?

In a major decision impacting the local automobile market, Pak Suzuki has officially stopped taking bookings for its well-known hatchback, Suzuki Wagon R. The automaker had already put a hold on the reservations of its top variant months ago, sparking speculation about a full discontinuation. Now, that speculation has turned into reality.

In a notification sent to dealerships, the company stated:

"Pak Suzuki Motor Co. Ltd has permanently ceased bookings for all variants of Suzuki Wagon R."

Additionally, it clarified that this immediate suspension is effective from March 11, 2025. Dealers have been advised to inform their sales representatives and potential buyers accordingly.

Suzuki Wagon R in Pakistan: Evolution & Pricing

The Suzuki Wagon R made its debut in Pakistan in 2014, with three different versions and the following prices:

VXR	1,049,000
VXL	1,089,000

Later, the VX base model was discontinued, and in 2020, a premium AGS (Auto Gear Shift) variant was launched. This updated version featured an automatic transmission and an airbag, with an increased price of Rs. 1,890,000.

The vehicle gained rapid popularity, especially among Uber and Careem drivers, due to its spacious design, fuel efficiency, and affordability. It became a preferred choice for ride-hailing services, eventually becoming synonymous with budget-friendly urban mobility.

Is a New Suzuki Wagon R Coming?

When automakers halt bookings, it often hints at an upcoming model refresh. To verify this, we contacted Pak Suzuki, where an official representative shared:

"No replacement model is expected anytime soon—perhaps in two to three years."

This statement indicates that for the foreseeable future, Pak Suzuki has no immediate plans to launch an upgraded version of the Wagon R in Pakistan. The decision likely stems from declining sales over recent years.
