Suzuki's Plant Shutdown Extended for Third Time
Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC) has once again postponed the resumption of production at its car plant, deviating from the previously announced schedule. In a recent notification, the automaker revealed that its management has opted to extend the shutdown of the automobile plant from November 9 to November 14, marking the third such extension in the past few weeks. This decision has been attributed to an ongoing shortage of inventory. Previously, PSMC had initiated a shutdown of the automobile plant from November 6 to November 8.
It remains uncertain whether the Japanese automaker will announce further extensions to its production shutdown schedule after November 9, depending on the evolving inventory situation.
In a separate significant development, PSMC's Board of Directors (BoD) has resolved to delist the company from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) and acquire all remaining shares.
Meanwhile, Honda has also informed the Pakistan Stock Exchange that its plant will experience an extended shutdown, spanning from November 8 to November 9. These recent developments in the automotive industry reflect the challenges and adjustments manufacturers are making to cope with inventory shortages and other operational considerations.
