Tesla Model 3 RWD: 701 KM Range Launched

The new Tesla Model 3 with long-range rear-wheel drive has officially launched in the United Kingdom, boasting significant upgrades in both performance and efficiency. Priced at £44,990, this model is £5,000 more than the standard version, which retails for £39,990. The highlight of this launch is its remarkable range of 436 miles (701 kilometers) on a single charge, an impressive increase of 120 miles over the previous model, which offered only 318 miles.

Enhanced Efficiency

With its efficient long-range capabilities, the Tesla Model 3 is among the most energy-efficient electric vehicles available today, achieving a remarkable 4.96 miles per kilowatt hour (mpkWh). However, details regarding the battery used in this version remain uncertain. Speculation in the industry suggests that it utilizes the same battery pack as the Model Y, but Tesla has yet to confirm this information.

Design Upgrades

The exterior of the Tesla Model 3 features a sleek front design with a redesigned bumper and low-profile headlights that enhance aerodynamics. Additionally, the introduction of "Frequency Response Dampers" improves suspension for a smoother ride. The updated tyres and wheels contribute to the overall performance and handling of the vehicle. Inside, the cabin is equipped with ventilated seats and acoustic glass in all windows, including the windshield and front side windows, which help reduce noise. A rear passenger screen has also been added for entertainment, along with a stalkless steering wheel that features a convenient thumb button. Furthermore, the sound system has received upgrades to enhance the driving experience.

Speed and Performance

The Tesla Model 3 now offers two wheel options: 18 inches and 19 inches. Opting for the 19-inch wheels may slightly reduce the range to 383 miles. In terms of speed, the Model 3 RWD is not as quick as its all-wheel-drive counterpart, reaching 0 to 60 mph in just 4.9 seconds. Although it won’t compete in drag races against the AWD version, which can achieve the same speed in 4.2 seconds, the long-range RWD model does offer fast charging capabilities of up to 250 kW.

Booking and Deliveries

Tesla fans in the UK can now place their orders for the new Model 3. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in November 2024, providing customers with the opportunity to experience the latest advancements in electric vehicle technology. With its impressive range, design upgrades, and competitive pricing, the Tesla Model 3 is poised to attract a wide audience in the electric vehicle market.
