Tiggo 4 and Tiggo 8 Pro Prices Rise Due to Withholding Tax

Chery Pakistan has recently announced an increase in prices for its popular crossover SUVs, the Tiggo 4 Pro and Tiggo 8 Pro. This adjustment includes a notable change where the ex-factory prices now incorporate freight and insurance charges. This aligns Chery with a select few local car assemblers like Pak Suzuki and Changan Pakistan who have similar pricing policies.

Revised Prices for Tiggo 4 and Tiggo 8 Pro

The new ex-factory price for the Tiggo 4 Pro is now Rs. 6,930,000, up from Rs. 6,899,000, reflecting an increase of Rs. 31,000. Additionally, the Withholding Tax (WHT) for filers is set at Rs. 139,986, and for non-filers, it stands at Rs. 419,958.

Meanwhile, the Tiggo 8 Pro sees its price adjusted to Rs. 9,585,000 compared to its previous price of Rs. 9,550,000, marking a Rs. 35,000 increase. The Withholding Tax for non-filers is Rs. 193,617, and for filers, it amounts to Rs. 580,851. These revised rates came into effect from July 1, 2024.

Update on Withholding Tax Policy

In June 2024, the government introduced a revised automotive tax policy affecting local brand-new vehicles. Under this new policy, the Withholding Tax is now calculated based on the vehicle's invoice price rather than engine size, as previously applied. Notably, the percentage of tax varies for filers and non-filers, with non-filers subject to higher rates.
