Hopes were high for a turnaround in 2024, but ongoing economic uncertainty, exacerbated by political turmoil, has once again cast a shadow of doubt over the industry's prospects.

Toyota's Initiative to Navigate the Crisis

In a bid to navigate through the tumultuous period, Toyota Pakistan has introduced an 'exclusive offer' for the newly launched Corolla Cross Hybrid Electric. The company aims to entice buyers with competitive markup/profit rates, the lowest insurance rates, and priority delivery for orders processed through select banks. Last year, Toyota Pakistan experienced a substantial sales decline of 63%, with Corolla and Yaris sales plummeting by 70%, signaling a challenging period for the company.

Kia's Varied Offers to Attract Consumers

Kia Lucky Motors, a key player in the local Car market, is making strategic moves to retain customer loyalty. The company has introduced different offers, including cashback, priority delivery, and low insurance rates. Social media posts reveal Kia's cashback offer of Rs. 50,000 on the Picanto AT variant and Rs. 150,000 on all variants of Sportage. Additionally, the Sorento model offers interest-free installments starting from Rs. 8,999,000. Despite these efforts, last month's sales for Kia saw a significant decline to 4,875 units, contrasting sharply with the 15,432 units sold in November 2022, raising concerns nationwide.
