Toyota Debuts 2 EVs at Guangzhou Auto Show
Toyota has made a significant splash at the ongoing 2023 Guangzhou Auto Show in China by revealing two intriguing electric vehicle (EV) concepts – a stylish sedan and a spacious SUV. While these concepts lack English names, the sedan is known as "Comfortable Space" in Chinese, and the SUV goes by the name "Enjoyable Space."
Enjoyable Space Electric SUV Concept:

Specifications:
The electric SUV concept, strikingly similar to the previously showcased Toyota bZ FlexSpace Concept in China earlier this year, boasts dimensions of approximately 4,800 mm in length and a 2,900 mm wheelbase. Positioned between the Toyota RAV4 and Kluger, the Enjoyable Space concept is expected to hit the Chinese market next year. It will be offered with both single- and dual-motor electric powertrains, catering to diverse preferences.
Comfortable Space Electric Sedan Concept:

Production Plans:
Scheduled for production in 2025, the Comfortable Space electric sedan concept stands at around 5,000 mm in length with a 3,000 mm wheelbase, aligning it closely with the dimensions of the Lexus ES. Noteworthy features include retractable door handles, camera side mirrors, and impressive 21-inch alloy wheels.
Interior Features:
While detailed interior specifications are yet to be disclosed, both concepts were showcased with tinted windows. Expectations include a minimalist design, typical of Toyota's latest models, featuring a squared-off steering wheel, velour-like trim, flat front seats, a sliding center console, and a prominent free-standing touchscreen infotainment system.
Production Details:
The production versions of these electric concepts are slated to be manufactured by the GAC-Toyota joint venture company exclusively for the Chinese market. The electric SUV is anticipated to debut next year, while the electric sedan is earmarked for a 2025 release.
Toyota's EV Expansion Plans:
As part of its broader electric vehicle strategy, Toyota aims to launch ten new EV models by 2026. These endeavors align with the company's ambitious goal of selling 1.5 million pure-electric vehicles globally by the same year.
In conclusion, Toyota's foray into the electric vehicle landscape at the Guangzhou Auto Show signifies a pivotal step in its commitment to a sustainable automotive future, showcasing a blend of innovative design and cutting-edge technology.
