Toyota Reveals the 2024 Tundra with TRD Power
At the 2023 SEMA Show, Toyota is making a significant splash with its latest offering – the 2024 Tundra featuring the highly anticipated TRD Performance Package. This optional upgrade, priced at $3,400, not only enhances the vehicle's aesthetics but also delivers a substantial power boost, promising an elevated driving experience for enthusiasts and truck lovers alike.
Exploring the TRD Package
For those eager to invest in this performance enhancement, the TRD Package introduces exclusive TRD badging, a stylish exhaust tip, and an impressive gain of 32 horsepower. The mechanical magic behind this upgrade can be attributed to advanced dual intakes and a new exhaust system, meticulously designed to optimize airflow and deliver a remarkable surge in power. A finely tuned engine complements these enhancements, ensuring that every drive becomes a sporty and robust adventure.

Unleashing Enhanced Power
With the TRD Package in place, the standard twin-turbocharged 3.4-liter i-Force engine springs to life with a commanding 421 horsepower. While the torque remains a formidable 649 Nm, the reconfigured setup ensures that peak torque is delivered 400 RPM earlier, resulting in an exhilarating performance. Opting for the i-Force Max engine unleashes the Tundra with a remarkable 469 horsepower, surpassing many of its competitors in the US truck market.
2024 Tundra Comes with Warranty
It's worth noting that the TRD Performance Package is not a dealer-installed modification. Toyota offers this performance enhancement directly from the factory, complete with a full standard vehicle warranty. Jakin Wilson, the senior engineering manager for Toyota Motor North America, reaffirmed the brand's commitment to building upon the excitement generated by the new Tundra platform. Toyota's vision includes harnessing the potential of the twin-turbo engine to create an extraordinary performance package.

Toyota's SEMA Bonus: The X-Runner Concept
As a special bonus at SEMA, Toyota introduced the X-Runner Concept, which shares the same robust 421-horsepower engine found in the TRD-enhanced Tundra. While the X-Runner Concept is not currently available for purchase, it offers a tantalizing glimpse of a potential street truck revival. Toyota is actively gauging interest, suggesting that if enthusiasts express sufficient enthusiasm, the X-Runner may find its way into dealerships in the coming years.
