Toyota Unveils Hilux GR Sport II for 2024 Release
Toyota has officially revealed the highly-anticipated Hilux GR Sport II, slated for release in 2024 in international markets. This second iteration of the GR Sport variant promises a slew of enhancements both inside and out, as well as beneath the surface.
Dakar Rally Heritage:
Drawing on its impressive Dakar Rally-winning legacy, the Hilux GR Sport II aspires to deliver a compelling fusion of superior handling and stability. With a remarkable 3,500 kg towing capacity and a payload capability of 1,000 kg, it sets new benchmarks in its class. Notably, the vehicle boasts an extended tread width, increasing the lateral distance between the wheels by 140 mm at the front and 155 mm at the rear compared to the standard Toyota Hilux. This substantial enhancement ensures a confident and capable ride, even in challenging weather conditions or demanding driving scenarios.
Enhanced Vehicle Stability and Comfort
The Hilux GR Sport II has taken steps to further boost vehicle stability by reducing roll angles and offering precise steering response. Additionally, it incorporates noise and vibration reduction measures, while the suspension and braking systems have been meticulously fine-tuned to provide a more stable and comfortable driving experience.
Impressive Powertrain
Under the hood, the vehicle retains its robust 2.8L turbodiesel engine, delivering an impressive 204 hp of power and 500 Nm of torque. This powerplant is skillfully mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission for seamless performance.
Distinctive Exterior Styling
Setting itself apart from its regular Hilux counterparts, the Hilux GR Sport II features an array of distinctive exterior design elements. These include a black G mesh front grille, black sidesteps, mirrors, and door handles. A silver-colored protective front underguard, a black rear bumper, and eye-catching GR SPORT logos all contribute to its refreshed appearance.
Sporty Interior Aesthetics
Inside the cabin, sporty red accents enliven an all-black-themed interior. GR-branded black suede and leather sport seats, adorned with silver stitching and perforation, are complemented by the striking addition of red seatbelts. The cabin receives a new hydrographic ornament on the door trim and dashboard, featuring GR-themed details on the information display and instrumentation.
Technical Advancements for Enhanced Performance
Further technical enhancements include the introduction of new monotube suspension, larger 17-inch front discs, and new 15-inch rear discs for enhanced braking performance. The vehicle's functional design has been reinforced with an improved approach angle and greater ground clearance.
