Toyota Unveils Sport Crossover Concept in Europe

The Toyota Sport Crossover Concept made its European debut at the Kenshiki conference held in Brussels, Belgium, as part of the automaker's strategic unveiling. Initially showcased at Auto Shanghai alongside the bZ FlexSpace Concept in April, this concept previewed a new electric vehicle (EV) slated for release in the European market by 2025.

Reflecting the design elements seen at Auto Shanghai, the Sport Crossover Concept boasts Toyota's signature hammerhead lighting at the front, coupled with a sleek fastback silhouette and sharp aerodynamic features. The exterior design is characterized by prominent creases, distinctive wheel arches, and taillights that mirror the front design, connected by a stylish ducktail spoiler.

Diverging from its Chinese counterpart, the European version of the Sport Crossover Concept is presented in a different color and omits the roof-mounted LiDAR sensor and front fender garnish. While interior details remain undisclosed, it is expected to align with the minimalistic cabin showcased in the Auto Shanghai concept, featuring curved displays and a yoke-style steering wheel.

Toyota's official release describes the Sport Crossover Concept as an appealing option for first-time electric car buyers, offering a stylish alternative to SUVs with maximum comfort, five doors, a spacious boot, and generous rear legroom.

Developed by BYD Toyota EV Technology (BTET), a joint venture between Toyota and BYD in China, the Sport Crossover Concept is part of Toyota's ambitious plan to launch six dedicated EV models in Europe by 2026. This strategic move reinforces the automaker's commitment to electrification and meeting the evolving preferences of European consumers.
