Toyota Yaris 1.3 CVT AERO Variant Discontinued by IMC
Indus Motor Company (IMC), the assembler of Toyota-brand vehicles in Pakistan, announced on Friday its decision to discontinue one of the variants of the Toyota Yaris. The specific variant being discontinued is the Toyota Yaris 1.3 CVT AERO, as stated in an official notification released by the company. The notification indicated that the allocations for the Yaris 1.3 CVT AERO have been lapsed in the allocation system. Dealerships are instructed to update their price lists accordingly and inform their sales teams about the discontinuation.
IMC is expected to provide an update regarding the existing orders of this variant in the coming days. The AERO variant was introduced in April of the previous year, featuring several exterior upgrades, including Aero Front Bumper Extension with unique Foglamp covers, Aero side skirts (L+H side), Aero Bumper Extension with black inlay, and Aero Smart Rear Trunk Spoiler. It was launched at a price of Rs. 5,199,000. While Indus Motor Company did not disclose the reason behind this decision, low sales could be a significant factor.
In its latest report, the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA) revealed a 26% decline in Toyota's sales. The company sold 2,036 units last month, a decrease from 2,762 vehicles sold in January 2024. Additionally, earlier this month, the company announced a 6-day production shutdown from March 6 to 11.
