In late 2023, Atlas Honda grabbed attention in Pakistan’s automobile industry by introducing its debut electric scooter, the BENLY e. Although no official launch timeline was disclosed then, fresh updates indicate that the company is now gearing up to introduce its Atlas Honda Electric Bike to the local market by June 2025.

Although it remains uncertain whether the same BENLY e scooter will be the model introduced, excitement is building. Regardless of the specific model, the move showcases Atlas Honda’s commitment to maintaining its dominance in the motorcycle industry. The company currently holds an impressive 85% market share in Pakistan’s motorcycle sector, further strengthening its reputation through international exports.

Challenges in the e-Bike Market

The electric two-wheeler segment in Pakistan is still evolving. Several challenges, including high prices, a lack of charging infrastructure, and consumer hesitation, have slowed growth. Although the government has rolled out incentives such as tax cuts on electric vehicles (EVs), electric motorcycles accounted for less than 1% of total motorcycle sales in 2024.

Despite these obstacles, industry analysts believe that the Honda Electric Bike Launch could be a game-changer, leveraging the brand’s strong market presence and large-scale manufacturing capabilities.

With a production capacity of approximately 1.3 million motorcycles annually, Atlas Honda benefits from a well-established and highly localized supply chain, sourcing over 95% of its components domestically. Electric two-wheelers are gaining momentum globally, especially in Asian markets like India and China, where affordability and government incentives are driving adoption.
