Vehicle Inspection Certificate System Starts in Rawalpindi

Rawalpindi district administrant has managed their vehicle inspection certificate system (VICS), which is located at Choor Chowk, Peshawar Road and this department will issue the vehicle fitness certificate to the small commercial vehicles. The government announced that Vehicle Inspection Certificate System Starts in Rawalpindi.

VICS will inspect the small commercial vehicles and it will issue fitness clearance certificate including rickshaws, taxis, motorcycle rickshaws, small pickups, three-wheeled loaders and others. This department will facilitate the owners of the small commercial vehicles so that they can drive their vehicles on outskirts of these two cities. The authority concerned will charge the fee of Rs.700/- for the issue of fitness certificate. 

The Light Commercial Vehicles (LCVs) including vans, small trucks, mini-buses etc will obtain the fitness certificates from the facility, which is located near Mandra. The LCV drivers requested to local administration to provide this facility in the city for the issue of fitness certificates for their vehicles. 

The government has taken these initiatives to facilitate the small commercial vehicles for the environmental pollution in Islamabad and Rawalpindi and the surrounding areas. The government has issued the instructions to the law enforcing departments to take the strict against the vehicles, which are unfit and they cause damage to the environment. 

The law enforcing agencies started their strict crackdown operation against the drivers, conductors and owners of the vehicles, which are responsible for overcharging the customers. The commissioner Rawalpindi has issued strict instructions to the relevant authorities to stop all these illegal terminals. The District Regional Transport Authority (DRTA) has leveled 8 illegal bus stations located at Pirwadhai. 

This law enforcement agency has lodged 34 FIRs and impounded 54 vehicles and this department has apprehended 29 drivers and conductors for the overcharging. The government has announced that this crackdown will be continued till further notice issued by the concerned department of the government.
