Vinfast Unveils Affordable Electric Jimny Rival

The Vinfast VF3 is an upcoming electric SUV that is said to be inspired by the Suzuki Jimny. It is expected to debut in Vietnam in the third quarter of 2024. While some details about the vehicle have been leaked, the complete powertrain specifications have not been revealed yet.

According to the leaks, the VF3 will feature a single electric motor and will be powered by a Lithium-iron Phosphate (LFP) battery. The battery is expected to provide a range of 237 km, and the vehicle is rumored to have a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 12 seconds.

Specifics regarding safety and comfort features are currently unknown. The VF3 will reportedly be available in two variants: Eco and Plus. The Eco variant will come with 16-inch wheels, while the Plus variant will have 17-inch wheels and the option for two-tone exterior paint.

The interior details of the VF3 have not been disclosed, but design sketches suggest a basic cabin that can accommodate up to five people, with limited luggage capacity. The standard model is expected to have a single infotainment screen, while the Plus model may include an additional 8-inch screen.

Vinfast claims that the VF3 will be an affordable vehicle and aims for it to become Vietnam's "national vehicle" after its launch. The exact pricing details will be unveiled at the formal launch next year.
